Western Tiger Swallowtail

This stunning butterfly graces us with it's beauty for the briefest of time, living only one month in adulthood. They're found wherever quaking aspens and cottonwood trees grow. Rarely seen at rest, we have Mama Nature to thank for this rare photo opportunity along the Spada Lake North Trail.

"The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough."

- Rabindranath Tagore
