Mt Baker

Mount Baker

Majestic Mount Baker, aptly known as the White Sentinel by the Indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest. Approaching the peak from the Ptarmigan Ridge Trail as we did on this day, its immense height (10,781 feet) took our breath away! Beautiful as it is, this is a thermally active volcano, and though it hasn't erupted in over 100 years, the day will come, reminding us that the Washington landscape is ever changing.
