Lime Kiln Point

San Juan Island lies in the northwest corner of the contiguous United States between the U.S. mainland and Canada's Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Lime Kiln Point Lighthouse, built in 1919,  served as a beacon for trade and shipping between the two countries. In the background, the Olympic Mountains form the southern boundary of the Strait of Juan De Fuca, the most traveled maritime route in the history of the Pacific Northwest.
