A scene from our misty morning hike along the Independence Lake Trail. As we approached the lake, the mist thickened and enveloped the forest. It was early spring and the air was brisk laden with the scent of damp earth as the last throes of winter were slowly giving way. While exploring the lake shore, thunder rolled and a pelting rain began to fall, leaving further exploration for another day.
