Granite Falls
Granite Falls was named when the Everett and Monte Christo Railroads were built utilizing the wealth of granite from the surrounding gorge. The town of Granite Falls was later established in 1883 and still exists today as a thriving rural community. The Stillaguamish River, which powers these falls, flows all the way to Puget Sound and is a major route for spawning salmon.
