Cascades Frog

This golden-eyed amphibian is found in the Cascade Mountains of the Pacific Northwest. Preferring to live near quiet water sources, we found this one in a shallow pool at the base of Clear Creek Falls. Interestingly, they secrete an anti-bacterial serum that has been shown clinically to impede the growth of E. coli in humans, proving once again that Mother Nature’s secrets have yet to be fully uncovered.
