The Bowman-Lottie Bay Trail is one of our favorite trails in the Pacific Northwest. Located on Fidalgo Island, it offers outstanding views of Puget Sound, San Juan islands, Deception Pass Bridge, and the opportunity to breath in our favorite scent: Douglas Fir. Think pineapple cheesecake. Pure heaven! Coastal forests are home to another beauty, the Pacific Madrone, a native evergreen known for its orange-red bark and broad green leaves, several of which are pictured here.
